Maybe you have an artist’s mind and could help raise money and awareness by hosting a jewelry party or a wine and art night and donating the proceeds. If you have an online presence, consider adding a link to Taylor’s Tale as an easy way to spread the word about our charity and the fact that you are a Taylor’s Tale supporter.

Is cooking or baking your area of expertise? Consider organizing a bake sale, hosting a dinner party or creating a cookbook and donating funds raised from your sweet efforts. 

Are you a social butterfly? Why not organize a bar night or wine tasting with a group of friends? Ask if the restaurant will make a tax-deductible donation, or ask your friends to bring a certain dollar amount as a contribution. If your skill is being thrifty, then keep a jar to throw change into. Make your efforts exponential by asking local restaurants and businesses if they’ll keep a change jar at the counter.  Or consider having a garage sale and selling things you don’t use or need and donating the proceeds.

The options are truly endless; just think about your interests, hobbies and skill set to come up with ideas you can put into action - from organizing events with friends that share your common interests, such as a Bowl-a-thons or poker tournaments, to simply donating your services and asking for a contribution in return.

Don’t forget that children can help too! Host a talent show with friends and invite friends and family to make a donation. Or, try saving up money earned from household chores, babysitting or mowing the lawn. Ask family members if they will match your contribution to double your impact. 

Whatever talent or commitment of time you make to help children like Taylor, together we’ll be one step closer to a cure for Batten disease!
